Conversation APL & I Had Today

APL: Why this cheese is cold?

Me: It was in the refrigerator.

APL: Why?

Me: That's where we keep our cheese.

APL: Why?

Me: So it doesn't spoil.

APL: Why?

Me: Because cheese will spoil if it's not kept cold.

APL: Why?

Me: If it's not kept cold, mold will grow on it.

APL: Why?

Me: Ask your mother when she gets home. She's a scientist.

APL: Why?

Me: She studied science in school.

APL: Why?

Me: I think she liked science.

APL: Why?

Me: Maybe you should ask her that.

APL: Why?

Me: Because you are asking me about Mama's state of mind.

APL: [pause] OK.
