5 Months, 15 Pounds of Cute

I know. A month has past since I last posted. I have been very naughty indeed. If Supernanny were here she would give me a whohning. Luckily she is not and I will not have to sit in the Naughty Chair.

You see what my humor has turned into? Supernanny jokes.

We were in Montreal for 3.5 weeks. A vacation like that is unheard of the USA. That's verging on sabbatical here. But I work for a not- for-profit (for anyone) and one perk is decent vacation time. So we went to Montreal.

The flight to Montreal was not fun. Because we had to wait until the last minute to purchase tickets, we had no choice when it came to seats. Karin and I were in the back of the plane, in separate rows, each in a middle seat. When we boarded the plane, we asked the flight attendant if there was anywhere that we might sit together, particularly given that we had little APL to take care of. She said there were no seats available. The 15 or so passengers within earshot each then looked our way and smiled uncomfortably, as if to say "Well, I know I could help you out but I choose not to."

APL then spent most of the flight crying and complaining. He doesn't like sitting at the back of the plane. I give that flight a 2 out of 10 in terms of traveling with baby.

The flight back was significantly better. We eked out an upgrade and APL was quite pleasant for most of the flight. He likes the front of the plane. I give that flight with baby a 7 out of 10.

Montreal and environs was fun. APL was lavished with attention and love. We saw lots of family, walked and jogged on the mountain, went up north, ate well, ate poutine, and generally attempted to relax.

APL has reached a wonderful stage of life. He smiles every time he glances at me... which I am enjoying. Actually he smiles at just about anyone that smiles at him. Very sociable young man. He also has begun eating baby cereal, which, for you non-parents, is a gruel-like substance that seems to be chunky formula.

I would continue with this but I do have to pack up the house. We are moving in a few days and I have a ton of stuff to go through. Pictures and video will be coming soon.
